“I paint mainly with watercolors and use colored pencil and sometimes pastels for details and to achieve a certain effect. I experiment also with acrylics and mixed media. Much of the work is based upon a flat rectangular shapes that denote calm. There’s a certain otherworldliness (magic realism?) to some of the paintings which is fun as it allows me to push and experiment with color intensities and combinations that we would not typically see in nature. Someone told me all art is experimentation. I think that’s where I am with my journey now. Experimenting and learning as I go.” —- JKReybold
